Policies, Delivery Procedures, Cancellation Policy, and FAQs

General Information

  • All yard card greetings are a 1-day rental with the option to purchase additional rental days.

  • Please do not touch or move our signs unless QCYA is notified. If there is an emergency, please send an email to or call us at 704-951-4155. If a display is moved and damages occur, a fee of $25/piece will be charged to your card on file. 

  • Please allow the installers the time to install without interruption as they are on a schedule. All questions and or concerns can be directed to our email address or phone number above.

  • If there is a specific area in which you would like the signs installed, please mention it at the time of booking. If no area is specified, the installer will choose the area that they best see fit.  

  • Queen City Yard Art Reserves the right to refuse any order for any reason.

  • Finally, have FUN! You are shouting to the world you have something to celebrate—ENJOY IT! Take lots of pictures and tag us on social media!

Installation Information

  • Unless other arrangements have been made and agreed to in writing, we will deliver, set up, and pick up between 5:45 and 9:00 am (during May & June extended to 11 am). We reserve the right to arrive earlier or later.

  • We may arrange your yard card display differently than the photos depicted on our website or social media sites depending on the size of the yard, length of name, and/or conditions.

  • Sprinklers must be turned off and lawn maintenance must not occur while our signs are in your yard or being installed/picked up. Please arrange any lawn card services to come prior to set up or after your event. Cut grass will stain our materials and landscaping equipment can puncture and damage our materials, resulting in replacement fees of $25/piece.

  • Please water your lawn the day before installation. It makes the ground softer, which makes it easier to get the stakes in the ground. A screwdriver should easily pierce the soil. 

  • All pets must be put away, and pet waste cleaned up prior to installation. It's often dark out, and we can't see where we're stepping or what we're stepping in! Please pick up/remove any animal waste on/near the installation area prior to our arrival.

Cancellation Policy

  • We will give you a refund if notified in writing 7 days in advance. Any display cancelled with less than 7 days notice will receive a credit for a future booking date, based on our availability.  Please note there is a $5 processing fee to cancel an order.  You can reschedule at no charge.

  • NO refunds or credits for wrong addresses (please double check the address when creating your booking), homeowner or recipient removal request, animals posing a threat, or the inability to access the yard/space, such as locked gates, denied access to a gated community, closed businesses, etc.

  • NO refunds will be given due to yard conditions that prevents the display from being set up (i.e. hard ground, rocks, etc.).

  • In the event of inclement or hazardous weather, we may not be able to set up any lawn displays. We will give you the option to reschedule or cancel with a refund or credit applied to your next reservation.

Important Information

  • DO. NOT. MOVE. THE. DISPLAY. Please. Pretty Please. We beg you. If there are any issues with the placement of the display, please contact us immediately. If a display is moved and damages occur, a fee of $25/piece will be charged to your card on file. 

  • For the safety of everyone, please do NOT allow anyone to play on or around the display. Signs are not built to safely support the weight of a child or adult. Queen City Yard Art is not responsible or liable for any injury due to playing on the display.

  • DO NOT ATTACH ANYTHING TO THE DISPLAY. Please do NOT tie balloons, streamers, ribbons, or any other additional decorations to the display. The additional weight may damage our structural pieces and will result in a damage fee ($15/piece).

  • At least one person in the home MUST be notified about the rental and set-up of the signs in order to ensure the safety of the individual installing the display. If you are ordering signs to be set up at someone else's home, please make them aware of our rental policies. 

  • We will not enter fenced areas to install unless a code is given or gate is unlocked.

  • Solar spotlights are added as a courtesy and not part of our yard art packages. They are based on availability and weather. Please note if it’s a cloudy or rainy day, they may not get the charge needed to work efficiently. 

  • Signs may not be able to be installed due to weather (storms, rain, lightning, wind, snow, ice, etc.). A full refund will be issued if this happens or an alternate date will be offered.  Please understand that the weather is out of our control. 

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What areas do you service?
    We service locations within 15 miles of South Mecklenburg High School. To verify that you are within our delivery area please use our service area map via the link below. Simply input your address to see the distance from our base location. We will also deliver to addresses 15.1-20.0 miles away for an additional travel fee.
  • How much do your yard signs cost?
    Pricing includes your personalized greeting, delivery, set up, and pick up. We offer tiered pricing with different options to choose from starting at $75. Double names/twins are extra.. Please note there will be a rush fee added if a request is submitted less than 24 hours before the event. If our online ordering system will not let you order due to a late reservation please contact us via email or 704-951-4155.
  • What if you are booked the day I would like to rent a display?
    We will do our best to accommodate your requests, but our top priority is to give amazing customer service while upholding our gold star standard for delivery and installation. If our online booking system is showing we are booked or not allowing you to book due to a late request please call us at 704-951-4155
  • How are the displays installed?
    We use metal stakes to attach the letters and signs to your yard. The height of the pieces varies, depending on the design. The metal stakes are pushed into the ground (hence why we ask you to water the lawn the day of installation – a softer ground makes for easier installation) to ensure they are stable. Don't have a grassy area or do you have a new construction yard filled with hard rock? No problem! We have wooden stands that can be used on turf, cement or hard floors like a ballroom! Please be sure to note on your order if wooden stands are needed.
  • What time do you set up and pick up the display and can I request a specific time?
    We typically install in the morning between 5:00-9:00 am except in May/June which is 5-11 am and pick up the next morning. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide a specific time of install or pick up due to the varying number of daily installs and their locations.
  • What if I want the display longer than 1 day?
    Extra days are available for $35 or 2 additional days for $50. If you need longer than 3 days please reach out to us prior to booking your display.
  • How far in advance should I book my display?
    Book as soon as possible to ensure your colors, theme and date are available. Bookings are a first come, first serve basis. If someone else books the same theme on the same day before you do, that theme/piece will not be available
  • Can I place a special order for a custom display?
    Yes, we do accept custom orders including your business, event or school logo. We do require a minimum of 3 weeks notice so that we have time to design and print your custom yard card pieces. Please contact us prior to ordering.
  • What if it's raining?
    We don't mind a little liquid falling from the clouds, and most of the time we can find a rainbow somewhere nearby to enjoy. Our yard cards are made of durable and waterproof corrugated plastic so they will hold up just fine. The only reasons we would need to cancel due to weather are high wind speeds, lightning or sleet/snow/ice creating unsafe conditions on the roads.   • Can I order a display as a gift for someone?
    Absolutely– with one caveat. We don't want to ruin surprises. but there must be at least one adult in the home that knows we are coming, and you must agree to share our policies and procedures with them. As with all installs, we will place a small sign out of the way of your greeting to identify Queen City Yard Art as the company that placed the yard card.
  • Do you offer refunds and/or what is your cancellation policy?
    We will give you a full refund if notified in writing 7 days in advance. Any display cancelled with less than 7 days notice will receive a credit for a future booking date, based on our availability. Please note there is a $5 processing fee to cancel an order. You can reschedule at no charge. In the event of severe weather or hurricane, yard card rentals will be canceled and will be notified immediately.
